my dream became waking life.

sitting in a darkened room, watching nan goldin's photos blur & fade into one another, i found myself feeling the same mixture of deep sadness & intense awe.

i was amazed that everyone else in the museum could walk from photo to photo with such objective, detached expressions. i sat on the floor in tears.

i wrote a paper on nan goldin last year. i love her photos. she's had a crazy life. didn't she actually used to live right in central square on pleasant street?

i think she lived in jp, but i'm not sure. she was in boston for a long time. what was your paper about?

it was short research paper comparing the approaches of nan goldin and ira wohl's documentary work and also the ethical dilemmas of their work.

she did live on pleasant street. she also lived in her brother's harvard dorm room and on beacon hill.
