I was thinking about this the other day at the post office. The only stamps of the appropriate cost are flags and old-style cars, and it irritates me to no end. Hurry up and print some Langston Hughes or Andy Warhol 37-cent stamps already, would ya?
yeah, don't you have better things to worry about than cute stamps?? yeesh!
ahem. i'd be sad without the cute stamp fix. go to a larger post office, perhaps one with a stamp shop, and there you will find a plethora of cute stamps (lots of new ones out recently, too, like bats!).
at least the 60-cent stamps are pretty landscapes. but i'm getting MIGHTY tired of seeing all the american flag stamps. my gf got me a free roll of them, so i'm obligated to use them ($37 worth of free stamps! how could i NOT?)...but my stomach curdles a little every time. agh.
i asked the postal worker i bought stamps from today what stamps they had, and they "just haven't come out with new designs yet." rar! i bought houdini stamps, though, which was exciting.
i wanted to get the antique cars but the post office only had four left. i dunno what's up with that. i ended up with a sheet of american flags, ergh. houdini would have been perfect (though i've heard there's been some trouble with them slipping off envelopes... ;)
