i'm pretty sure i'm going to this conference on reproductive rights next weekend. i have a ride there & back but need to figure out housing. hey connie & bryn, let's make plans!
It is pretty near me...I have gone the past two years. Maybe we can meet up! They do offer housing there, but I think it is like flopping in dorm lounges. I would offer for you to stay at my apartment, but you would probably only want to in a pinch, because it is kind of a drive and often kind of crowded and stressful to boot.
we should definitely meet up. i won't have a car, i'm bumming a ride with some other folks, but thanks for the housing offer! i can deal with a dorm lounge for a night. i need to find out if things are going to be gender-segregated, ugh. xo.
I don't think they are. And, as bonus, at the conference itself, the men's bathrooms are always available, while the women's have heinous lines continually. ...If you need to get away from scenic Hampshire, we could hang out and get food in town or something, in my impossibly small car.

Just great, I tell ya, just great. That's what Riles told me, too. Now back to the matter at hand... OMG!! This is going to be the rawkinest conference ever. I should be getting to Amherst around noon or so on Friday in a big OSU van with six other kids, which I will have driven for like 12 hours, so I might be a little road weary, but regardless, we still gotta hang. I'm sure I'll probably see you around -- I'm not exactly hard to spot -- but if you want my cell number or anything, juzz e-mail me. If we don't end up seeing each other, I know I'll definitely be at Sadie's panel which is on Saturday @ 3:15pm, or something.
of course a zine is coming your way. want me to hand it over in person? bryn, talk to me about where you're planning to sleep. are you getting housing via the dorms? i have to register by friday if i want that. email me or catch me on aim sometime: juliusgerm connie says i can be the auxilary member of the charlie's angels. ;) xo.
re: the 'zine, you can hold off on it and just give it to me if you're gonna be there, 'cause that would save with postage. Also,
re: sleeping arrangements, i registered with the conference like last week, and from what i understand they put you in a dorm lobby with your sleeping bag and are all like, "go for it," so I guess that's what I'm going to do, against my better judgement (i.e., i'm hoping they're not gonna be like THIS IS A WOMYN-ONLY DORM SO YOU AND YOUR PENIS WILL HAVE TO GO SOMEPLACE ELSE PLEASE THANKS BYE), which leads me to
re: Bitch+Animal are playing a show in Easthampton, fourteen miles away, the Friday evening (4/4) of the convention. i will have access to the keys to a big white ten-passenger OSU van and i think i'm gonna round up a buncha folks to drive out there to MWMF-policy outreach 'em. Are you in or are you out?

Date: 2003-03-26 07:07 am (UTC)if the dorms are all grossly gender-segregated & scary, we can all confront it together & demand safer sleeping arrangements. xo.
