wow, senator santorum is busy lately. not only is he rallying for sodomy laws (& being backed up by the white house, surprise surprise), he's also introducing new legislation as part of title ix that would cut federal funding for universities/colleges that permit teachers or students to criticize israel. he calls this "ideological diversity," because such criticism is always & only anti-semitic, apparently.

ps. i am so tired of reading counter-arguments about sodomy laws that use the "loving, monogamous gay relationships" line to make their point that we queers are actually, gasp, not fucking with the "basic tenets of society & the traditional family." point one: sex doesn't need to be loving, monogamous or in the context of a relationship to be consensual & legal. point two: who says we don't want to fuck with those basic tenets?

have you read any gayle rubin? she has amazing things to say about sexual minorities stepping on the next marginalized group down to gain legitimacy for themselves -- and why that's screwed up.

hey, yeah i have read rubin. i remember piecing together "the traffic in women" for the first time years ago & feeling totally amazed & energized.
