subjective | (no subject)

in my po box today i got elliot's zine. i also got a subscription invite from out magazine. please note the extreme, infuriating discrepancy between these two pieces of printed media, particularly in terms of power/influence. i feel like sending back the subscription form with a note that says "dear out, i would rather spend ten times as much money on smart zines by my queer friends than "act now" in time to get your spring fashion special issue."

if i am ever "famous" or have a lot of connections or any sort of influence on a broad level, i am going to spend a lot of time creating ways to amplify the voices of the people i know in my personal life who don't get the cultural/political megaphone that they deserve. i swear.
