tonight i realized that since i left my old job i have not been as in touch with the news media as i would like to be. it was like a constant barrage of info & articles at that job, & now i find that i mostly rely on lj to provide me with important info/articles. i want something a little more consistent. can anyone recommend a good lefty newsfeed or perhaps a yahoo listserv or something?

I just found Alternet
. I think they seem okay.

Common Dreams is an excellent syndication of lefty news and opinion.

i read alternet, the new york times, my local paper, and the onion pretty consistantly. when i'm really procrastinating i read some of the european and middle-eastern newspapers online. also i listen to the news on the radio. that way i can absorb news while i cook and change diapers and stuff.

what radio programs are you listening to? npr stuff? i've never in my life listened to radio but now might be a good time to start. efficiency!

i'm lucky to have KPFA (pacifica network) which is pretty progressive. I do listen to NPR too, but it often makes steam come out of my ears.

kpfa plays on the web, too! at kpfa.org

personally, i like the different local indymedia sites around the world (http://indymedia.org) for text news.
