the governator proposes massive budget cuts that would result in the loss of $20million for ac transit (the east bay bus system, which is already crappy enough thanks). please note this would mean either no weekend service or no school service. nice, arnold.

also the fda is banning gay men from making anonymous sperm donations. because of hiv risk. what in the fuck.

i saw that story about the sperm on the news, and that can be fucked up in two ways. either they're discriminating against homosexual men, or else they're not screening EVERYONE ELSE for hiv. either way is pretty creepy to think about.

This is related to blood donations, not tissue/sperm, but...

The American Red Cross has (for a long time) refused donations from men who admit to having sex with men or with IV drug users. They HIV-test all blood anyway, from what I hear.

All this means is that men-who-fuck-men who want to donate blood or sperm will lie about their sex lives, and that's been true for years anyway. Doesn't justify the policy, but policies like this have been around for years and I haven't seen anyone move on them.

and they're cutting four major mental health clinics in SF . . . gutting homeless shelters. . . defunding daycare for low income parents. . . it gets better and better. . .
