i have the cutest friends in the world. no, for reals.

sitting in new york in the nicest dorm room in the world eating clementines, listening to heavenly, giggling with jen. reading up on info for the anti-war rally tomorrow. really glad to be here for it but feeling pretty nervous at the same time. and not because of code fucking orange, either.

leave a comment if you can tell me what the strategic point of doing action with the goal of getting arrested is. i've been thinking about this a lot.

i think a lot of the appeal of getting arrested is that there'll be an official record of dissent, so the person/protest will be historicized. and also, getting arrested could lead to a court trial which could be publicized...lots of contingencies but any sort of official documentation of names, dates, words, whatevs, gives the issue some weight in the history books.
