i sorted my books tonight to see which ones i absolutely must ship to california & which i can let go. i tried to be ruthless.

if you're interested in any of these, i'll send them to you for the cost of shipping (you boston locals are in luck). i was just going to donate them anyway. (hey amy, can you tell me the protocol for donating to the prison book project? do i have to drop them somewhere or will they come pick them up?) leave a comment if you want any of them, please.

tobesters,

i would like to claim: higglety pigglety pop and brown girl.

re: donations: you can pretty much bring them by any night that people are packing up books (which is usually tuesdays and thursday from 6-9:30, altho sometimes they open late.)

the more obvious thing to me is that it doesn't seem like your particular collection of books is what prisoners usually ask for (i.e. they're likely to sit around for a long time on the shelf). i don't know if it's too much work, but you might want to look into other places to donate ... maybe an elementary school that's under-libraried (isn't that all of them?!?!) or a college LGBT resource center, or a women's center or something.

I'll take whatever you have leftover. Seriously, all of it =) I'm building up my school library--but I'll just take the leftovers of whatever else no one wants, ok?
