oh my god, i just got an email with an article about edward said's death.

looking back, this whole year seems fraught with loss.

you know... i've been thinking about that a lot. it's funny because you'd think with my dad's death, other deaths might hit me harder, but they just don't. i fear it's insensitivity, but it feels like it's just a part of life (how cliche am i)...

when i think about all these famous people's deaths and i start to think too much, i think this loss is inevitable, right? because we're just starting to get to this point where the people who first started to experience great global fame, with tv and all that stuff, like it wasn't before, they're getting old... and then it makes me want to curl up, because some day all of these famous people will die and the world will watch, and now i wonder if that's what fame is...
