i just talked to my grandma for like an hour. she is totally the most amazing person ever. today in the mail i got an enormous jar of cane syrup from her. i think lindsey might be the only person who understands the radness of this. tomorrow i am making biscuits to eat with it. she promised to send me green peanuts for boiling. we talked a lot about the war. we talked a lot about childhood memories of mine & family tree stuff, & i tried not to cry. it was awesome. i am totally in love with her.

my god, that sounds amazing. and on the boiled peanuts tip, when they were in season we bought an entire BUSHEL of them to freeze. now our freezer is totally packed with peanuts, and the other day davin boiled some of them for a winter treat. my lips were puckered from all the salty goodness! your grandma sounds truly amazing.
