i just talked to my grandma for like an hour. she is totally the most amazing person ever. today in the mail i got an enormous jar of cane syrup from her. i think lindsey might be the only person who understands the radness of this. tomorrow i am making biscuits to eat with it. she promised to send me green peanuts for boiling. we talked a lot about the war. we talked a lot about childhood memories of mine & family tree stuff, & i tried not to cry. it was awesome. i am totally in love with her.

Damn you, now I want A> biscuits with sorghum syrup and B> boiled peanuts. Both fond childhood memories that I haven't thought of for years.

Hmm, I bet I could order peanuts for boiling, somewhere.....
