i'm moving at the end of august, the quarter doesn't start till late sept. i met some of the folks in the history dept last week when i was visiting & they were really enthusiastic. sounds like there are lots of people there working on gender/sexuality histories. i think davis will be live-able for me for the first two years, but after that i'll try to move into the east bay & commute up. i can email you with more details from my visit if you want...
Yeah, that'd be rad. I've not been checking mail much lately (again), but I'd definitely like to hear your take on things and how Davis compares culturally/visually to Boston/Cambridge. Since I like to live car-free, I'm thinking that california in general may not be the place for me, but I can dream. And there are always motorcycles.
